About Me

Why I Write

When I write, I feel like I have the world in my hands. I can express all my emotions, ideas, imaginations, when I write. I feel like I can express myself without being judged. When I write I can go into my own world and be who I want to be. People can get distracted in there own writing while I get lost inside my writing. When I write I write for myself. When I write I do it for my family. I write for myself to be able to express my feelings instead of keeping them to myself. I like to share my experiences of my life. While sometimes I dislike writing.

I hate writing sometimes.

I write because I learned to open my heart with a keyboard, but sometimes that can be the worst. Sometimes I feel like I will break my computer because I am pressing the keys so powerfully I feel like every time I press the key the computer has a many earthquake and the computer screams in fear when I type.  I write when I am sad, sometimes I get so deep in my thought I start to cry about it while I type soon I have to wipe the keyboard so he doesn’t drown, that’s why I write. I talk a lot of what happened to me during the day and if it is something not so great I do not stop ranting about the problem. Soon I can’t find a conclusion that can be really frustrating sometimes. I write because it takes all my stress and affliction I have made it something to share, something that people can relate too and help me out and I may help people out in that way too that is why I write. I can relate to people with my ethnicity I come from a poor background living in mexico.

Dumb Mexican!

Learning how to write was not the best. I was born in mexico I went to school in mexico all the way to first grade. My dad found a job in California so we moved to California we already knew were we were going because we would visit our family in California but that was all easy the hard part was that I had to start from kinder all over again that was because I didn’t know anything. I struggled to learn English I only knew simple words such as, hi, my name is Miguel, and other simple words and sentences. I didn’t like to write at first because I couldn’t spell any words, When i took spelling test I would never pass even with a C I was considered the best of the worst In spelling at least that how I made a joke of my embarrassment with my friends. It wasn’t until I moved to Salinas at the age of 10 when I started to learn English. I learned it rapidly and fluently. I started to develop a love for writing when I had to write a essay about our summer in 6th grade, I mentioned my cousins passing the whole essay was towards him. Soon I was able to pass my spelling test because I Thought, I wrote, I passed.I learned that I can express myself very well so I wrote more and more.

  1. Hello, Miguel Angel Martin Del Campo I really enjoyed your Why I Write piece. The line that really captivated my attention was when you said, “I learned to open my heart with my keyboard.” This line really caught my attention because I had a line similar to yours in my blog, and I can really relate to it. I relate to your blog because mine is also about how I express my feelings throughout my writing. Your blog was really good Miguel keep up the good work. Thank You.

  2. Hi Miguel,
I can relate to your story. When you mentioned, ” I struggled to learn English, I only knew simple words….” I can relate to this sentence because that was me when I was younger. My first language was Spanish and I had a really hard time learning English as fast as my friends. My friends would pass all of their spelling tests and i wouldn’t. I would hide my spelling test grade because I was embarrassed of the grade I have gotten.Your story makes me want to read more and more it was really interesting because I related to it deeply.
